Kishinchand Chellaram Law College, Mumbai, presents Legis Centrum 2026, a prestigious countrywide law fest designed to foster a vibrant academic environment. This two-day event, scheduled for February 27th and 28th, 2026, serves as a platform for law students across India to showcase their unique legal knowledge and engage in the intricacies of the legal profession. As the name suggests, Legis Centrum means "Centre of Law," aiming to create a bridge between the common man and the state through legal excellence.
Late Dr. L. H. Hiranandani Memorial Countrywide Moot Court Competition
Dates: 27th – 28th February 2026.
Eligibility: Students pursuing a 3-year or 5-year LL.B. degree in the current academic year 2025-26.
Team Composition: One team per institution comprising three members: two designated speakers and one researcher.
Registration Fee: Rs 3000/- per team.
Problem Theme: A fictitious criminal case involving issues of maintainability, appreciation of video recording evidence, and the "Panchsheel Doctrine".
Competition Structure:
Researcher’s Test: A Multiple Choice Question test conducted on Friday, 27th February 2026.
Preliminary Round: 15 minutes per team; each student counsel must argue for a minimum of 5 minutes.
Semi-Final Round: 25 minutes per team conducted on a knock-out basis.
Final Round: 30 minutes per team with the winner determined by the highest marks.
Awards: Trophies and Certificates for the Winning Team, Runners-up, Best Student Advocate, Best Researcher, and Best Memorial.
Countrywide Client Counselling Competition
Dates: 27th – 28th February 2026.
Registration Fee: Rs 1500/- per team.
Registration Deadline: 2nd February 2026 by 23:59 hours.
Team Composition: One team of two students per college.
Problem Areas: Based on Contract law, Tort law, Labour law, Constitutional law, and Family law.
Format:
Consultation (Interview): 10 minutes to elicit relevant information and propose solutions.
Post-Consultation: 10 minutes for participants to discuss future strategies while being overheard by judges.
Final Round: The top 4 teams participate in a 30-minute session.
Awards: Trophy and Certificate of Merit for the Winning Team and Runners-up.
Countrywide Mediation Competition
Dates: 27th – 28th February 2026.
Registration Fee: Rs 1500/- per team.
Participation Limit: Maximum of 15 teams accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Team Composition: One team per college comprising 3 participants: Client, Counsel, and Mediator.
Format:
Preliminary Round: 15 minutes total, including facts presentation, mediation, and a caucus.
Final Round: The top 4 teams proceed to a 30-minute session.
Rules: Mediators must conduct at least one mandatory caucus; use of electronic devices as props is prohibited.
Awards: Trophy and Certificate of Merit for the Winning Team, Runners-up, and Best Individual Mediator.
Research Paper Writing Competition
Topic: "Addressing Misinformation and Developing Critical Thinking Skills in the Digital Age".
Eligibility: Students in any stream or pursuing Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD degrees in the 2025-26 academic year.
Registration Fee: Rs 800/- per person.
Key Deadlines:
Registration: 2nd February 2026.
Submission: Soft copy must be sent by 24th February 2026 till 23:59 hours.
Submission Guidelines:
Must be a Word file in English.
Maximum 3500 words.
Turnitin plagiarism report must be less than 10%.
References must follow APA style.

Letter to The Chief Justice Competition
Dates: 27th – 28th February 2026.
Registration Fee: Rs 1000/- per team.
Format: Inspired by citizens writing letters to the judiciary to highlight pressing issues for conversion into writ petitions/PILs.
Team Composition: Two participants per team.
Competition Rules:
Topic disclosed 15 minutes before start at the venue.
Handwritten in English on provided A4 paper or inland letter.
Maximum time: 1 hour.
Focus on public interest and avoid excessive legal jargon.
