The 7th Surana & Surana and Army Institute of Law Family Law Moot Court Competition (2025–26) is a hybrid event designed to build systematic awareness of family law and develop advocacy skills.
Key Dates for Your Calendar
Registration Deadline: February 5, 2026.
Clarification Requests: Must be submitted by January 31, 2026.
Memorial Submission (Soft Copy): February 10, 2026, by 5:00 PM.
Virtual Rounds (Orientation & Preliminaries): February 20–21, 2026.
On-Campus Rounds (Octa-Finals to Finals): April 10–12, 2026, at the Army Institute of Law, Mohali.
Eligibility and Team Composition
Participants: The competition is open to students currently pursuing a three-year or five-year LLB course.
Team Size: Each team must consist of 2 to 3 members (2 speakers and 1 designated researcher).
Language: The entire competition will be conducted in English.
Registration and Fees
The registration process is two-tiered:
Base Registration: A fee of Rs. 1,500 must be paid by February 5, 2026, via the provided online portal.
Advanced Round Fees: Teams qualifying for the on-campus rounds must pay an additional Rs. 3,500 by March 1, 2026.
Accommodation: Optional on-campus accommodation is available for Rs. 900 per student per day for two days (Total: Rs. 5,400 per student).
Memorial Guidelines
Formats: Teams must prepare memorials for both the Petitioner (Light Blue cover) and the Respondent (Light Red cover).
Citation Style: Footnotes must strictly follow the OSCOLA 4th Edition format.
Anonymity: No institutional identity should be revealed in the memorials; only the assigned team code should be used to avoid disqualification.
Competition Awards
Winning Team: Rs. 30,000.
Runner-Up Team: Rs. 24,000.
Best Memorial: Rs. 15,000.
Best Student Advocate: Rs. 10,000.
All Participants: Will receive certificates of participation.
