The 1st RGNUL National Corporate Liquidation Process Competition is an academic initiative designed to simulate the end-to-end corporate liquidation framework under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. Organized by the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Law Division (IBLD) at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, this competition moves beyond conventional moot courts by requiring participants to act as Liquidators in a process-driven format.

Competition Schedule
The competition is divided into three distinct phases:
Written Submissions: Due on January 24, 2026.
Mock SCC Rounds (Online): Scheduled for February 07, 2026.
Mock NCLT Hearing (In-Person): Scheduled for February 21, 2026, on the University campus.

Structure and Stages
The competition progresses through three stages, each testing different professional skills:

1. Written Submission Stage
Teams of two participants, acting as Co-Liquidators, must prepare two statutory reports based on a provided factual proposition:
Preliminary Report: Captures initial liquidation assessments, including capital structure, asset/liability estimates, and liquidation strategy. This mirrors Regulation 13 of the IBBI (Liquidation Process) Regulations, 2016.
Progress Report: Reflects execution developments, including asset realization, distribution, and fees. This aligns with Regulations 15 and 36 of the IBBI (Liquidation Process) Regulations, 2016.

2. Mock Stakeholders' Consultation Committee (SCC) Stage
Qualifying teams move to an online interaction where they must defend their reports and commercial reasoning before a panel simulating the SCC. Evaluation focuses on statutory compliance and the ability to respond to stakeholder scrutiny.

3. Mock NCLT Hearing
In this final in-person stage, teams appear before a simulated National Company Law Tribunal Bench. One team defends an Asset Distribution Plan as the Liquidator, while the opposing team challenges it as an Objecting Stakeholder.
