The Faculty of Law at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is hosting the 13th edition of the Mahamana Malaviya National Moot Court Competition (MMNMCC). This prestigious event honors the legacy of BHU's founder, Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, and provides a platform for law students across India to showcase their advocacy and legal research skills.

Official Timeline and Key Dates
The competition is scheduled to take place from March 13th to March 15th, 2026. Below are the critical deadlines for participating institutions:
Provisional Registration Deadline: January 26, 2026.
Clarification Requests: Queries regarding the moot proposition must be submitted by January 28, 2026.
Memorial Submission (Soft Copy): Must be submitted via Google Form by February 11, 2026.
Announcement of Memorial Results: February 19, 2026.
Final Registration Deadline: February 28, 2026.

Competition Rounds: The Researcher’s Test and physical registration occur on March 13, followed by Preliminary and Quarter-Final rounds on March 14, and Semi-Finals and Finals on March 15, 2026.

Eligibility and Team Composition
Students pursuing a 3-year or 5-year LL.B. degree from any Bar Council of India-recognized institution are eligible. Each institution may send only one team.
Team Size: Minimum of two and a maximum of three members.
Roles: Teams must designate two speakers and one researcher. In two-member teams, one speaker must also fulfill the researcher role.

Registration Process and Fees
The registration is conducted in two phases:
Provisional Registration: Teams must submit a Google form and pay a fee of 2,000 INR by January 26, 2026.
Final Registration: Only the top 24 teams based on memorial scores will qualify. These teams must pay an additional participating fee of 4,000 INR (inclusive of accommodation) by February 28, 2026.

Competition Structure and Awards
The competition will be held in physical mode at the Faculty of Law, BHU, Varanasi. It includes a memorial selection round, a researcher's test, two preliminary rounds, and advanced knockout rounds (Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Final).

Awards and Prizes:
Total prizes are valued at 1,00,000 INR.
Winners: 40,000 INR.
Runner-Ups: 30,000 INR.
Best Speaker, Best Memorial, and Best Researcher: 10,000 INR each.
Winners also receive trophies, certificates, and access to SCC Online Web Edition
