Upcoming International Negotiation and Mediation Competitions 2026
The Kerala Law Academy (KLA) Law College, established in 1966, is hosting two major international legal events in early 2026. These competitions are designed to help students develop essential lawyering skills such as communication, strategy building, and collaborative dispute resolution.

Event Overview
Host Institution: Kerala Law Academy Law College, Thiruvananthapuram.
Mode: Hybrid, featuring both virtual and on-campus rounds.
Key Dates: February 20–21 and March 6–7, 2026.
1st KLA International Negotiation Competition
This inaugural event simulates real-world negotiation scenarios to promote practical, client-centered skills.

Eligibility: 
Open to full-time or part-time students of Law or Management Colleges. Students in post-graduation or correspondence courses are not eligible.
Team Composition: Two students from the same university, acting as a Client and a Counsel.

Registration Deadlines: 
Provisional registration is due by January 25, 2026. Direct registration must be completed by February 3, 2026.
Fees: ₹1,750 per team for the Preliminary round. Qualifying teams for Semi-Finals pay an additional ₹3,000, which includes food and accommodation.
Prizes: Winners receive ₹20,000, a trophy, and a certificate of merit. Runners-up receive ₹10,000, and the Best Negotiator receives ₹5,000.

5th KLA International Mediation Competition (IMC)
The IMC aims to increase ADR culture among aspiring lawyers and provide experience in niche legal practices.

Eligibility: 
Open to full-time or part-time law students from recognized Law Colleges, Schools, or University Departments. Post-graduate and correspondence students are ineligible.
Team Composition: Three students, including a Mediating Pair (Client and Counsel) and one Mediator.

Registration Deadlines:
 Provisional registration by January 15, 2026. Final registration by February 10, 2026.
Fees: ₹1,750 for Indian teams and $30 for International teams.
Prizes: Winners receive ₹20,000, a trophy, and a certificate of merit. Runners-up receive ₹10,000, and the Best Mediator receives ₹5,000.
