VIDHI MANTHAN 2.0 Client Counseling Competition 2025–26
Modern Law College, Pune, in collaboration with the Late K.T. Girme Foundation, is hosting the VIDHI MANTHAN 2.0 Client Counseling Competition for the academic year 2025–26. The competition aims to provide law students with realistic client interview simulations to strengthen practical legal skills.

• Time: 9:00 AM onwards
• Venue: Modern Law College, Pune
• Eligibility: Students enrolled in 3-year or 5-year LL.B. programs in any year of study
• Registration Fee: ₹2,000 per team (non-refundable)
Objectives of the Competition
• Provide a structured platform to refine client interviewing and counseling skills
• Enhance problem-solving abilities through real-world legal scenarios
• Deepen understanding of the lawyer-client relationship and ethics
• Promote teamwork and professional collaboration
Team Composition and Registration
• Each team must consist of two students: Senior Counsel and Junior Counsel
• Only one team per institution is allowed (first-come, first-served)

Competition Structure
Preliminary Round
• Areas of Law: Consumer Law, Contract Law, Criminal Law, Intellectual Property Law
• Problem Release: 45 minutes before the round
• Time: 20 minutes (15-min consultation + 5-min post-consultation)
Final Round
• Top four teams qualify
• Area of Law: Property Law
• Problem Release: 45 minutes before the round
• Time: 30 minutes (20-min consultation + 10-min post-consultation)
Competition Procedure
• Teams function as a simulated law office
• Consultation requires gathering facts, identifying issues, understanding client goals, and suggesting legal pathways
• Both members must participate actively
• Reference materials may be used
• Judges evaluate listening, questioning, legal analysis, planning, professionalism, and teamwork
• Total Marks: 100
Code of Conduct and Disqualification Rules
• Language: English only
• Dress Code: Formal black pants/white shirt or white kurti/black salwar; no gowns, bands, or robes
• Identity must remain confidential; only Team Codes may be used
• Misconduct, overstepping time, identity disclosure, scouting, or attempts to influence results lead to immediate disqualification
• Unauthorized individuals are not permitted inside competition rooms
Awards and Prizes
• Winner Team: ₹21,000 + Trophy + Certificate
• Runner-Up Team: ₹11,000 + Trophy + Certificate
• Best Client Counselor: ₹5,000 + Trophy + Certificate
• Best Client: ₹2,000 + Certificate
