International Essay Writing Competition on Contemporary Relevance of the Bhagavad Gita
The Centre for Conflict Management and Dispute Resolution (CCMDR), Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University (DBRANLU), Sonepat, is organising an International Essay Writing Competition in collaboration with GIEO GITA and Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar. The competition is being conducted as part of DBRANLU’s celebration of the 75th Year of the Indian Constitution and the Constitutional Conclave series.
Theme – Contemporary Relevance of the Bhagavad Gita within the Indian Legal System
– Bhagavad Gita, Dharma & Modern Conflict Resolution
Suggested Sub-themes – Dharma-based ethical decision-making in dispute resolution
– Krishna’s negotiation and diplomatic strategies
– Nishkama Karma and neutrality in mediation and arbitration
– Sthita-prajna and emotional balance among dispute resolution professionals
– Viveka as a tool against cognitive bias and flawed judgement
Objectives – Encourage academic insight into legal philosophy inspired by Gita
– Promote ethical reasoning in justice delivery
– Connect Indian philosophical foundations with contemporary ADR practices
– Develop interpretative, analytical and reflective writing abilities

Eligibility – Students of 5-year integrated LL.B courses
– Students of 3-year LL.B courses
– Students pursuing LL.M (1-year or 2-year programme)
– Research scholars from recognised institutions
– Co-authorship permitted (maximum two authors)

– Line spacing: 1.5, fully justified text
– End-notes allowed (any uniform style)
– Plagiarism strictly prohibited
