The Faculty of Law at GLA University, Mathura, through its academic wing, the Institute of Legal Studies and Research (ILSR), in collaboration with the Competition Commission of India (CCI), is hosting the GLA–CCI National Moot Court Tournament 2026. This event offers aspiring advocates an opportunity to test their abilities in competition law advocacy, legal research, and courtroom argumentation within a simulated judicial environment.
About GLA University
Situated in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, GLA University was founded in 2010 under a statute enacted by the State Legislature. The University is approved by the University Grants Commission and has earned an ‘A+’ accreditation from NAAC, reflecting its strong academic standards and institutional excellence.
About the Institute of Legal Studies and Research
The Institute of Legal Studies and Research (ILSR) functions as the law school of GLA University and offers degree programmes such as B.A. LL.B., B.B.A. LL.B., LL.M., and Ph.D. The Institute focuses on producing well-rounded legal professionals through doctrinal learning, practical training, and research-oriented education.
About the Competition Commission of India
The Competition Commission of India is India’s statutory authority responsible for enforcing competition law. It was created under the Competition Act, 2002 to curb anti-competitive practices, protect consumer interests, and maintain fair market conditions across sectors.
About the Moot
The GLA–CCI Moot Court Tournament is a national-level legal advocacy competition that enables students to engage in realistic litigation exercises involving competition law disputes. Participants are required to analyse legal issues, prepare written submissions, and argue before expert adjudicators, thereby strengthening both theoretical understanding and practical skills.
Focus Area
The moot problem will be centred on Competition Law, requiring teams to resolve intricate questions concerning market conduct, regulatory oversight, and commercial fairness.
Who Can Participate
Students enrolled in:
Five-year integrated law courses, or
Three-year LL.B. programmes
at any recognised Indian institution are eligible to compete.
Team Structure
Each team may consist of:
Two advocates and one researcher, or
Two advocates, one of whom also acts as the researcher
Team roles, once declared, cannot be altered without official permission.
Participation Fee
₹4,000 per team
(This amount does not cover accommodation or meals.)
Awards
Champion Team – ₹50,000, trophy, and merit certificate
First Runner-Up – ₹25,000, trophy, and merit certificate
Second Runner-Up – ₹10,000, trophy, and merit certificate
Best Oralist – ₹5,000, trophy, and merit certificate
Best Researcher – ₹5,000, trophy, and merit certificate
Best Written Submission – ₹5,000, trophy, and merit certificate
Every participant will receive a certificate of participation.

How to Register
Teams must complete the official online registration form by 05 January 2026 (11:59 PM IST). Only 32 teams will be admitted. Registration becomes valid only after successful submission of the form and payment of the fee.
Each accepted team will be issued a unique identification code for all official correspondence.
