The 1st Justice K. Subba Rao Memorial Inter-University Moot Court Competition, 2026 is organised to commemorate the constitutional vision and judicial legacy of Justice K. Subba Rao. The competition is structured as a rigorous academic exercise focusing on constitutional law, advocacy, and legal research, based entirely on the official rulebook and brochure.

Eligibility and Team Composition
Open to bonafide students enrolled in:
Three-year LL.B. programmes
Five-year integrated law programmes
recognised by the Bar Council of India
LL.M. and other postgraduate law students are not eligible
Each team must consist of exactly:
Two speakers
One researcher
A maximum of two teams may participate from a single institution
Registration and Accommodation
Registration Fee: ₹3,500 per team
Registration is complete only after payment and submission of the official online registration form
Accommodation:
Provided only to teams qualifying for the Semi-Final and Final rounds
Accommodation fee: ₹1,500
No accommodation is provided for teams participating only in online rounds

Competition Structure and Evaluation
The competition consists of written memorial submissions followed by oral rounds.
Oral Rounds
Preliminary, Quarter-Final, Semi-Final, and Final rounds are conducted with progressively increasing time limits
Speakers are assessed on:
Application of law
Response to judicial questions
Advocacy skills and courtroom etiquette
Clarity, structure, and persuasiveness of arguments
Written Memorial Evaluation
Memorials are assessed on:
Knowledge of facts and law
Originality and plagiarism compliance
Depth of legal analysis
Drafting of prayers
Quality of compendium
Researcher’s Test
Conducted online
Duration: 50 minutes
Format: 45 multiple-choice questions
Ten designated star questions are used as tie-breakers
