The Bar Council of India (BCI) and the Bar Council of India Trust-PEARL FIRST, under the aegis of The Assam Royal Global University, are thrilled to announce the 38th Bar Council of India National All-India Inter-University Moot Court Competition 2026.

This prestigious competition is a celebration of intellect and perseverance, representing the pinnacle of excellence in legal education leading to Advocacy.

Key Competition Details

 * Host: The Assam Royal Global University, Betkuchi, NH-37, Guwahati-781035, Assam.
 * Dates: The event will be held from January 29th to January 31st, 2026.
 * Participants: The competition is open to students pursuing the LL.B. degree course.
 * Team Composition: Each team must consist of three students: two Mooters and one Researcher.
 * Nomination Deadline: The details of the nominated students and faculty coordinator must be submitted to the Professors at The Assam Royal Global University by December 15th, 2025.
   * Note: The earlier you send in your nominations, the sooner your students can receive the Moot problems.

Eligibility and Nomination Process

 * Who can participate? Students pursuing the LL.B. degree course.
 * How to Nominate: Nominations will only be accepted through the Vice-Chancellors, Registrars, or Deans of the respective Universities/Departments. Affiliated units or Law Colleges must coordinate with their affiliating Universities for the nomination process.

 * Multiple Teams: Universities with many affiliated colleges may nominate more than one team (e.g., Team A, Team B, Team C, etc.).

Prizes and Incentives

The competition offers substantial rewards to top performers:
 * Cash Prizes (Awarded by the Host University):
   * Winner: Rs. 2,00,000
   * 1st Runner up: Rs. 1,00,000
   * 2nd Runner up: Rs. 50,000
   * Best Speaker: Rs. 10,000
   * 2nd Best Speaker: Rs. 7,500
   * Best Memorial: Rs. 10,000
   * 2nd Best Memorial: Rs. 7,500
 * Scholarships: Scholarships of Rs. 1,000/- per month for a year will be awarded to top performers by the Bar Council of India.
 * Accolades: National Merit Certificates, Winner and Runner-up University Trophies, Best Memorial Awards, Best Speaker Awards, and Gold Medals for the Best Male and Female Advocates in the final round.
 * Publication Opportunity: Outstanding briefs may be considered for publication in the Indian Bar Review, the official journal of the Bar Council of India.
Support for Participants
 * Boarding and Lodging: The host University will ensure full boarding and lodging for all participants.

 * Travel Support: While institutions are encouraged to bear the travel expenses, the Bar Council of India Trust-PEARL FIRST will gladly offer second-class rail fare for any student whose institution cannot provide travel support.
