Program Objectives and Nature
The primary goal of the internship is to acquaint willing students of Economics, Law, Management, and Finance with the provisions and applications of the Competition Act. It is important for applicants to note that this internship is strictly an educational engagement; it is neither a job nor an assurance of future employment within the Commission.

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the program, applicants must meet the following baseline requirements:
Nationality: The program is open to Indian Nationals only.
Institutional Affiliation: Students must be from recognized Institutions and Universities.
Academic Exposure: Applicants should have exposure to Competition Law.
Placement Status: Students who already have a job placement in hand are not eligible to apply.

Educational Qualifications
The CCI accepts applications from students pursuing specific academic tracks:

Students in the fourth or final year of a five-year integrated degree program in Economics.
3. MBA students.
4. Law:
Second or third-year students of a three-year LLB course.
Fourth or final year students of a five-year integrated Law course.
Students who have completed their third-year exams and are entering the fourth year of an integrated course.
5. LLM students.
6. Regulatory Governance:
MA or MSc in Regulatory Governance.
Professional Courses:
Students in the final group of Chartered Accountancy (CA), Cost Accountancy, or Company Secretary (CS).
Internship Scheme and Duration
The standard internship period is one month, typically beginning on the first working day of the month. However, students may apply for a duration of two to three months if they provide a specific recommendation from their University or Institution for that extended period.

Key operational details include:
Induction: A short induction session on the Competition Act, 2002, is held on the first day.
Batch Size: Generally, the Commission takes up to 15 interns per month, though this may be relaxed for applicants with exceptional research topics.
Daily Conduct: This is a full-time program. Interns must observe regular Commission working hours and maintain strict discipline, punctuality, and integrity.
Final Requirement: To receive a certificate and stipend, every intern must deliver a presentation on their assigned work at the conclusion of the internship.

Financial Support and Facilities
Honorarium: Selected interns receive a stipend of Rs. 15,000 per month.
Logistics: The CCI provides office space, computer facilities, and intercom access.
Library Access: Interns are permitted to utilize the Commission’s library for their research.

How to Apply
Applications must be submitted in the prescribed format (Annexure) provided by the CCI; any other format will be rejected.

1. Documentation Requirements
Statement of Purpose (SOP): A mandatory 200-word essay introducing the chosen topic and study objectives. Applications without an SOP are summarily rejected.
Institutional Recommendation: The application must be signed and sealed by a competent authority from the student's academic institution, certifying their eligibility and marks.
Undertaking: Upon joining, interns must sign an undertaking confirming they do not have a job placement and will maintain strict confidentiality regarding Commission matters.

2. Submission Timelines and Methods
Applications must reach the CCI by the 1st day of the month preceding the intended internship month (e.g., for a December internship, the application must arrive by November 1st).

Submission Channels: Only Online
Intellectual Property: All research outcomes and work produced during the internship remain the intellectual property of the Commission. Interns may not use this material without prior written approval from the CCI.
