NLIU–CLT Policy Case Competition 2026: Techtonic
The National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal, through its Cell for Law and Technology (NLIU-CLT), is hosting the 2026 edition of its flagship Policy Case Competition, Techtonic. The event will take place on campus at NLIU Bhopal from 16 to 18 January 2026.

• Registration Opens and Theme Release: 1 December 2025
• Release of Policy Problem: 1 December 2025
• Registration Closes: 25 December 2025
• Deadline for Written Submission: 1 January 2026
• Declaration of Written Submission Results: 5 January 2026
• Oral Presentations (Preliminary & Final Rounds): 17–18 January 2026
About the Competition
• India’s first policy-focused case competition encouraging analytical, critical, and creative policy thinking.
• Participants are required to draft a structured policy proposal responding to complex real-world challenges.
• Written submissions undergo a dual-review system:
– Technical review by NLIU-CLT
– Content review by industry professionals, academics, and experts
• Top 20 teams are invited to NLIU for the oral rounds.
• Finalists present revised proposals before an expert jury.
• Winners are selected based on both the written submission and oral presentation.
• Previous themes include Cyber Bullying (2021), Internet Platform Regulation (2023), and AI & Intellectual Property (2024).

Day 2 – 17 January 2026
• Preliminary Round: Oral presentations
• Afternoon Round Table Conference on “AI Governance and Accountability”
• Announcement of finalists and Mentorship Session
• Social Night for participant networking
Day 3 – 18 January 2026
• Final Round presentations
• CLT Talk Show (suggestive theme: Regulating the Online Gaming Industry)
• Valedictory Ceremony and Prize Distribution
Awards
• First Position: Internship at Nishith Desai Associates + ₹35,000 + Trophy
• Second Position: ₹25,000 + Trophy
• Third Position: ₹10,000 + Trophy
• Best Speaker: Internship at CyberPeace Foundation + Trophy
• Best Written Submission: Internship at CyberPeace Foundation + Trophy
