Marathwada Mitra Mandal's Shankarrao Chavan Law College, Pune, is hosting the Late Justice P.B. Sawant Twelfth National Moot Court Competition 2026. The college is permanently affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University, approved by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi, and reaccredited with an A Grade by NAAC.
Competition Overview
The competition will take place on 24th and 25th January 2026 in offline mode at the college campus in Deccan Gymkhana, Pune. The event will be conducted entirely in English. Participants will compete for prizes worth ₹95,000.
Prizes
Winning Team: ₹25,000 along with a trophy and certificate
First Runner Up: ₹22,000 along with a trophy and certificate
Second Runner Up: ₹18,000 along with a trophy and certificate
Best Advocate: ₹15,000 along with a trophy and certificate
Best Memorial Award: ₹15,000 and a certificate
Consolation Prize: Trophy and certificate
Important Dates
Last date for registration: 2nd January 2026 (closes at 04:00 p.m.)
Last date for memorial submission (soft and hard copy): 12th January 2026 till 05:00 p.m.
Last date to submit travel plan: 13th January 2026
Draw of lots and exchange of memorials: 23rd January 2026 at 03:00 p.m. at the college campus
Dates of competition: 24th and 25th January 2026
Registration Fees
Participation without accommodation: ₹2,000
Participation with accommodation: ₹3,500
Fees are non-refundable and must be paid through online transfer.
Eligibility and Team Structure
Participation is open only to bona fide undergraduate law students (3-year or 5-year course) for the academic year 2025–26. Each institution may send only one team. A team must consist of two to three members, comprising two speakers and one researcher. The composition cannot be changed. The researcher may speak only in exceptional circumstances with permission from the panel.
Accommodation and Food
Free accommodation is available on request for teams coming from outside Pune from 23rd to 25th January 2026. Separate arrangements will be provided for boys and girls. Meals include breakfast, lunch, and dinner on 24th January, and breakfast and lunch on 25th January.
