The Centre for Advocacy, Practice, and Research in Intellectual Property (CAPRIP) at Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur, is inviting registrations for a Single Credit Course titled "Impact of Digital Space on Intellectual Property Rights".

This course is conducted in an online mode and is designed to help participants understand how the digital age is reshaping the laws that protect creativity and invention.

About the Course Theme
Digital technologies in India—ranging from broadband and streaming services to e-commerce and Generative AI—have completely transformed how we create and use content. However, our existing laws, such as the Copyright Act of 1957, the Patents Act of 1970, and the Information Technology Act of 2000, are finding it difficult to keep up with these changes.

This course will explore these legal gaps, focusing on specific modern challenges:
 * Copyright Challenges: How the law handles digital piracy and the fact that it is now incredibly easy to copy creative works globally.
 * Patents and AI: The legal confusion (specifically regarding Section 3(k)) surrounding software patents and inventions created by Artificial Intelligence.
 * Trademark Issues: The rise of infringement and fake products (counterfeiting) in digital marketplaces.
 * Legal Remedies: A look at how courts are trying to use traditional solutions for these new digital problems and the limitations of those solutions.
