N.J.Y. Memorial International Moot Court Competition 2026

The Moot Court Committee of ICFAI Law School, Dehradun, is hosting the N.J.Y. Memorial International Moot Court Competition 2026 on 7 and 8 February 2026. The event aims to provide an international platform for law students to develop advocacy skills and engage in rigorous legal argumentation.

ICFAI University, Dehradun was established under the ICFAI University Act, 2003 (Act 16 of 2003). The University is recognised for its comprehensive academic programmes and emphasis on professional education.

About ICFAI Law School

ICFAI Law School, formerly the Faculty of Law at ICFAI University, offers a range of legal programmes including the five-year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) courses, one-year LL.M. programmes in Corporate and Constitutional Law, and full-time as well as part-time Ph.D. programmes. The Law School is approved by the Bar Council of India and focuses on combining legal education with contemporary knowledge from management and humanities.



Eligibility Criteria

Students enrolled in an integrated five-year LL.B. programme or a three-year LL.B. programme at any recognised law school or university in India or abroad are eligible to participate. Each institution may send a maximum of three teams to the competition.



Team Composition

Teams may consist of either two or three members.
• A two-member team will have both speakers, with one member also acting as the researcher.
• A three-member team will include two speakers and one dedicated researcher.

All team members must belong to the same institution. Any change in team composition must be communicated to the Organising Committee at the designated email address.



Registration Process

Teams must complete the official registration form to participate. Registration operates on a first-come, first-served basis and will close once the maximum number of teams is reached.

Indian teams are required to pay a registration fee of ₹3,000. International teams are exempt from registration fees. The competition for international participants will be conducted online, while national teams will compete on the ICFAI University campus. Accommodation assistance will be provided to national teams.

After submitting the registration form, teams will receive confirmation and payment instructions via email. Teams that do not receive confirmation must contact the Organising Committee. Incomplete registrations will not be accepted. Each team must appoint one member as the primary contact for all communication. Registration fees are non-refundable.


Important Dates

• Registration opens and moot problem released: 19 November 2025
• Last date to seek clarifications: 15 January 2026
• Last date for soft copy submission of memorials: 2 February 2026
• 7 February 2026: Inaugural ceremony, submission of hard copies of memorials, Preliminary Rounds, Quarter-Finals, Researcher’s Test, and Social Evening
• 8 February 2026: Semi-Finals, Final Round, and Valedictory Ceremony

• Winning Team: ₹18,000, Trophy, and Certificate of Merit
• Runner-up Team: ₹11,000, Trophy, and Certificate of Merit
• Best Speaker: ₹5,000, Trophy, and Certificate
• Best Researcher: ₹5,000, Trophy, and Certificate
• Best Memorial: ₹5,000, Trophy, and Certificate
• Best International Team: ₹18,000 and Certificate
• All participants will receive Certificates of Participation
