PNYX ’26: 1st Online Memorial Drafting Competition
CHRIST (Deemed to be University), School of Law, Pune Lavasa Campus, is organizing PNYX ’26, the first edition of its Online Memorial Drafting Competition. The event is presented by the Moot Court Society in association with the Students Bar Association, offering law students a platform to refine their drafting skills in a competitive environment.

Release of the Problem: November 25, 2025
Last Date for Seeking Clarifications: December 8, 2025
Last Date of Registration: December 15, 2025 (Extended till 27th Dec)
Release of Clarifications: December 15, 2025
Submission of Memorials: January 5, 2026
Declaration of Results: January 15, 2026
Eligibility and Team Composition
Students currently enrolled in an LL.B or LL.M programme at any recognized university are eligible to participate. Teams may consist of one or two members, and teams comprising students from different institutions are permitted. There is no cap on the number of teams a single institution may register. Post-registration changes in team composition are not allowed unless specifically approved by the organizing committee.
Registration Details
Registration is accepted only through the official Google Form. The registration fee must be paid exclusively through the CHRIST University web payment portal under “Events/Fests – PNYX ’26.” A screenshot of the payment invoice must be uploaded within the registration form.
The registration fee is Rs. 499 for a team of two and Rs. 299 for an individual participant. The fee is non-refundable under all circumstances.
Awards and Recognition
The winning team will receive Rs. 5,000, while the runner-up will be awarded Rs. 2,500. All participants will receive e-certificates acknowledging their contribution and participation.
Memorial Submission Guidelines
General Requirements
Each team must submit memorials for both the Petitioner and the Respondent. Non-submission of either side will lead to disqualification. The combined page limit for each memorial is capped at 25 pages, inclusive of all sections.

Every memorial must contain the following sections in the prescribed order:

Prayer
The Cover Page, Table of Contents, Statement of Jurisdiction, Summary of Facts, Issues Raised, and Prayer must not exceed one page each. The Summary of Arguments may extend up to two pages.
Formatting Standards
Memorials must be typed in Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing and justified alignment. Footnotes must comply strictly with the 20th edition of the Bluebook and must contain only citations. Inclusion of substantive text in footnotes is prohibited.
The memorial must remain anonymous, and only the Team Code may be used for identification. Any reference that reveals the team’s identity will result in immediate disqualification. Submissions must be uploaded in both .docx and .pdf formats, with filenames in the format “TeamX_Petitioner” or “TeamX_Respondent.”
Scoring and Penalties
Each memorial will be marked out of 50 per side based on the following criteria:
Knowledge of Facts and Law: 15 marks
Quality of Analysis and Argumentation: 15 marks
Organization and Structure: 10 marks
Compliance with Citation and Formatting Rules: 5 marks
Clarity and Language: 5 marks
The final memorial score will be the average of the scores awarded for both sides.
Penalties will apply for various violations, including delays in submission, missing sections, incorrect citation styles, exceeding page limits, formatting errors, plagiarism, or disclosure of identity. Plagiarism and identity disclosure will result in disqualification.
