The Centre for Studies in International Trade and International Investment Laws (CITIL) at Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur, is inviting applications for the 3rd edition of its National Research Internship Programme. This opportunity is designed for law students who wish to gain serious research experience in international trade law, with a strong focus on the evolving relationship between trade and artificial intelligence.
Internship Theme and Format
• Theme: “Making Trade and AI Work for All: The Indian Perspective”
• Mode: Fully online, using suitable communication and collaboration tools
• Duration: Two months (January–February), starting in the second week of January 2026
• Minimum Requirement: Active participation for at least sixty consecutive days
• Positions Available: Up to ten, with one position possibly reserved for a DNLU student
Primary Research Responsibility
• Interns will work on a detailed research report titled “Making Trade and AI Work for All: The Indian Perspective”.
• The report must follow the format, depth, and analytical style of Law Commission of India reports.
• Upon successful completion, CITIL will publish the report through a reputed publisher.
• Interns will receive proper acknowledgment based on the quality and extent of their contributions.
Eligibility and Application Process
• Eligible applicants include students in the third year or above of a five-year integrated law programme, or in the second year or above of a three-year LLB programme.

• Each application must include:
• A detailed curriculum vitae highlighting education, research experience, and publications
• One published research paper demonstrating research and analytical skills
• Selection Process:
• Shortlisting based on CV
• Followed by a panel interview
• In case of excessive applications, shortlisting may be solely CV-based
Academic and Policy Requirements
• Plagiarism must not exceed ten percent.
• Use of generative AI tools is strictly prohibited.
• Copyright over all submitted work will rest with CITIL, DNLU, Jabalpur.
• If the final report or assignment is unsatisfactory, the internship will not be marked complete.
• Interns will be given a short window to revise their work (three days plus two additional days).
• Failure to submit satisfactory work within this time may lead to cancellation of the internship.
